Purim at the Ahavah Orphanage in Berlin (date unknown.) What became of the lady with the tipped hat? As for the children, a comment listed on Flickr reads, quite wonderfully: “In 1939 several children from this orphanage received visas for Palestine, and studied with my wife’s aunts. Some are still alive.” What a bittersweet photo.
